Avoid confusions by guiding your Hispanic patients or clients on proper name use in current country of residence. “Maria Rodriguez” or “Pilar Ruiz” instead of both or even more, like “Maria Ruiz” or “Pilar Rodriguez”. Educate your providers, LEPs and clients regarding this common use of multiple names and surnames by Hispanics. It will help them avoid a lot of headaches in the future, and will assist the Hispanics when they request services.
